Kristy Hoornick...how can I thank her for what I have been able to achieve with her guidance and support?
When I first met Kristy, I was a person who knew I needed help with my fitness level but it was hard knowing I had some limitations. You see, I have Multiple Sclerosis and it was Kristy who approached the London Middlesex MS Society regarding an MS Pilates course. Being one to always give things a try, I jumped at the chance when asked to take part in an introductory course and I have never looked back.
After our first meeting, then subsequent first class with Kristy, I thought "What on earth am I getting involved with, this is crazy!" But with her understanding of my limitations, she never gave up on me and constantly encouraged me to always try to do one more.
One week turned into two, which turned into six and before I knew it, I had finished the six weeks of classes. Kristy had the class addicted and we were ready for another 6 weeks of torture;-) Now it has become one more thing MS'rs can do we her guidance, support and knowledge.
Thank you Kristy for always encouraging me to do more!!

I wanted to let you know how impressed I am with your personal training and classes also! I've heard over the last while from other people how they love your classes and how you teach them...as well as Clients of yours who take Personal Training with you. This was the year of "Me"; I decided...and took the plunge of paying for some training for myself! There was no question as to WHO would be my trainer...from what I'd heard, it had to be you! As a Fitness Instructor myself, I wanted someone who would challenge me to my limits and put me in my place when I required correcting - and you've been doing just that.
I come away from my classes or sessions with you on a high. You push me to such limits, that out of pride I don't want to give anything but my best!!! You are extremely motivating; so important when people want to see results. The "props" you use are PHENOMENAL!!!! I never know what to expect; what we'll be using each time....and each time it is something different. You are a wealth of knowledge and you keep it interesting.
I tell everyone I meet about you and your training of me (and yes...I say nice things even though you work me so HARD!)....
When you are paying someone to work you - you want to ensure you get bang for your buck...and boy, I am getting my moneys'-worth with you!
Thanks for helping me on my road to pushing myself and seeing limits I've been wanting for a while now! I come away from our sessions tired from working so hard...but in another sense I have more energy than ever before since I'm so pumped up from the workouts!!!

Dear Kristy,
I have always been a “big” girl, but over the past 15 years, I have allowed my body to bloom totally out of control. The years of carrying the extra weight has taken a toll on my joints and lower back. When I could no longer raise myself out of the bathtub due to pain in my wrists and lack of strength in my arms, I knew I desperately needed to make a change in my life.
Planting within myself a seed of hope to improve my level of fitness, I went searching for a Personal Trainer who would help me cultivate and nourish my new found drive to accomplish my goal. I also wanted someone with experience and knowledge in dealing with injuries.
On the recommendation of the manager at my local GoodLife club, I hired Kristy Hoornick. I could not have imagined the incredible journey to fitness I was about to embark upon. Kristy designed a program specific to me as a person, and to my needs. My workouts started by using a Resist a band to strengthen my joints and increase my range of motion. In a very short time, my joint and back pain had disappeared and I moved on to weights. Being a Pilates instructor, Kristy recognized the benefits Pilates has on improving core strength and included a weekly Pilates class as part of my program. She showed me how to adapt moves to accommodate for my weaknesses. Yoga classes were added later to improve my flexibility.
Kristy always seems truly pleased to see me for my training sessions and her encouragement is my biggest motivator. She helps me to push myself beyond what I feel my capabilities are to a level I am truly capable of achieving. She keeps my muscles guessing as every session is a new adventure and constantly challenges my body and my mind.
Just as I am getting into a comfort zone with my Cardio program, Kristy changes the intensity to challenge me further. As part of my training program, Kristy also looks at my nutrition. Each week I submit to her a food log which she reviews and provides feed back to me on. When I overindulge she encourages me to take responsibility for my actions. This has included research into why I long for certain types of foods. As a result, I have written articles on the effects of carbohydrates and protein on the body as well as one on cravings. My food choices and eating habits are much healthier now.
With my customized fitness program, I have increased my stamina, strength and flexibility. I have become a much healthier and more productive person. My outlook on life is very positive and people often comment on my perpetual smile. I feel years younger and friends often comment on how healthy I look and that, is exactly the way I feel. Although I have dropped four pant sizes and 35 lb, it is the ability to perform my every day activities with ease, energy and pain free that I cherish the most.
I am still a work in progress, but I know with Kristy as my guide I will continue to attain a healthy lifestyle and level of fitness I never dreamed possible.
LOOK OUT RETIREMENT, HERE I COME!
